Situated in the northern state of Gujarat, India, the client's brief was to create an organic structure that related its environment. The concept of the structure comes from the snakes found on site during initial site visits. The house is wrapped around a centralised garden to create an intimate private space.
The plan of the house works by having a corridor facing the central garden which all private rooms are accessed off. The incorporation of vastu has been carefully thought through during the design stage. The use of natural materials allows the building to sit peacefully within its context. The pool cuts through the house providing a natural water element inside and outside and links the house to the garden.
